Harry Vosper

Harry started fishing with his father on the dams, rivers and streams of the midlands in Natal, South Africa. His family moved to the coast and he spent his teen years fishing the north and south coast of Natal.

In the early 60's Harry left for England as most young people did and he got a job with ABC TV as presentation executive on the World of Sports covering amongst other things the Fly Fishing Championships. This rekindled his passion for chasing Trout, which is as strong as ever.

He returned to South Africa in 1970 and after a short spell in Johannesburg, relocated to Natal. He became a part-time Natal Fisheries Officer and a crew member of the National Sea Rescue Institute. He also did work with the Natal Sharks Measures Board.

In 1978, Harry and his family immigrated to Perth. His job as State Manager for a transport company allowed him to experience the WA coast from Esperence to Wyndham. He started his own promotional merchandising company in 1988, "To allow me more time for fishing". which doesn't always follow.

His primary passion is still fly fishing the elusive Trout and has been fortunate to fish on 4 continents. He is the current President of the West Australian Trout and Freshwater Fishing Association and their representative on this board. He also is a member of the Recreational Freshwater Fisheries Stakeholders Sub-Committee.
